What I’m Doing Now
Here are the 6 things I am focused on right now. There are not enough hours in the day, so I’m committed to avoiding everything else.
I am on a mission to help people connect deeply with their parents. This is my ikigai and my #1 focus. Right now, I am doing this through a bilingual connection card game designed to spark deep conversations between people and their parents.
As I’m helping others, I continue to play the game with my mom and dad each week, and have since hired them after they had to retire early because of COVID & health complications. I am committed to deepening my connection and giving my parents the retirement of their dreams.
Every Monday night, I get together with my dear friends Brandon Lee, Kimberly Han, and my partner, Tong-Tong Li on a livestream where we openly discuss the challenges, lessons, dreams, and breakthroughs that come up for us during our interactions with our parents each week.
I recently wrote 30 mini essays to document my raw and real journey of rebuilding my relationship with my parents over the last 2.5 years, hoping these will help others feel a little less lonely on their journey. I am now working on evenings and weekends to turn them into a book.
My long-term project is to build an intergenerational village where my family, friends, and friends’ families can all live in separate homes clustered together, and we get to lean on each other to live our best lives. I am first bringing community to my parents through virtual meetups. I can’t do this alone. If you’re interested in talking about this or connecting our parents, please DM me on Twitter.
When I’m not working, I’m training my one-arm handstand (5 second hold), juggling (5 balls), and chair balancing.
I’m committed to being the best life partner I can be to TT. She is my better half and best friend.
